Этот праздник будет интересен для детей, изучающих английский язык, а также для тех, кто интересуется традициями народов разных стран.
Оформление сцены
Камин, сложенный из кирпичей. Если кирпичи белого цвета, их можно подкрасить розовой или красной гуашью или другой краской. Каминная полка делается из доски, которая водружается на две боковины, и сверху укладывается ряд кирпичей. Заднюю часть следует закрыть небольшим щитом. Огонь можно сымитировать, разместив маленькие свечки цилиндрической формы на железный противень. Фитиль поджигается, и создается впечатление, что в камине пылает небольшой огонь.
Чем больше свечей, тем больше огня. Свечи горят без дыма и безопасны в пожарном отношении. Сверху с каминной полки свисают детские чулочки. В них, по преданию, должны укладываться гостинцы для ребятишек. Если предусмотрены подарки для зрителей (класса или группы ребят), то лучше вручить их уложенными в специально приготовленные чулочки.
Рядом с камином стоит большое кресло, в котором будет восседать Санта Клаус. На сцене также должна стоять наряженная новогодняя елочка. Не забудьте про канделябр со свечами, стоящий на каминной полке, и другие новогодние украшения, подарочные коробочки с надписью "HAPPY CHRISTMAS",
— словом, все, что подскажет вам ваша фантазия. Во время праздника также будет разыгрываться сценка рождения Иисуса, поэтому необходимы декорации: деталь, изображающая хлев, ясли и тому подобное.
Санта-Клаус говорит без микрофона, голос же переводчика должен звучать громче и потому обязательно быть подзвученным. В программе могут использоваться слайды картин русских и зарубежных художников, запечатлевших сцены из жизни Иисуса Христа.

— этого персонажа представлять не нужно. Главное то, что ему, как ведущему праздника, придется весь вечер говорить на английском языке, поэтому его роль следует поручить учителю английского языка, мужчине. Автор этой книги делал это лично и смеет заверить, что это очень увлекательно.
Сайта одет в красную куртку с белыми обшлагам", такие же штаны, черный широкий ремень, колпак красного цвета и черные сапоги с отворотами белого цвета. Такие сапоги, конечно, не купить в магазине. Но их несложно сделать самим.
Для этого понадобятся обычные мужские зимние сапоги черного цвета и специально изготовленные опушки из искусственного белого меха, которые надеваются на ноги выше верхнего края сапог. Только надо сделать так, чтобы опушки не падали и не спускались вниз. Не забудьте про белую бороду для костюма Деда Мороза и круглые очки. Выбор солнцезащитных очков сейчас огромен.
Надо подобрать очки с круглой оправой и убрать темные стекла.

В назначенное время в зале гаснет свет. На сцену выходит Санта-Клаус с зажженным бенгальским огнем в руке. В полной темноте это выглядит очень эффектно. Санта зажигает свечи на канделябре, подходит к елочке и делает характерный жест рукой, чтобы вспыхнули огни. На елочке загораются фонарики. Это ваш помощник вовремя включил лампочки на елке.
Огонь в камине уже горит. Дело в том, что действие бенгальского огня очень непродолжительно и надо успеть зажечь хотя бы свечи. Затем можно включить передние рампы, освещающие сцену, чтобы персонажи не терялись на сцене вследствие недостаточной освещенности.
Санта-Клаус усаживается в кресло и начинает свой рассказ.

Вам, наверное, интересно, как это было? А было это так… Давным-давно в городе Назарет, который находился в земле галилейской, жил плотник по имени Иосиф. У Иосифа была жена Мария, к которой незадолго до описываемых событий явился ангел Господень Гавриил и сказал следующее: "Родишь ты сына и дашь ему имя Иисус.
Он будет велик и наречется сыном всевышнего, и царству его не будет конца".
Случилось так, что Иосифу с Марией пришлось отправиться в иудейский город Вифлеем. Когда же они были там, наступило время Марии родить.
На сцену выходят актеры, разыгрывающие сценку рождения Иисуса.
Мария (показывает Иосифу с пелену того младенца
— обыкновенную куклу, завернутую в пеленки).
Look, Joseph, this is our son!
Переводчик.
И родила Мария сына своего, первенцами спеленала его и положила в ясли для скота в хлеву, потому что не досталось им места в гостинице.
Мария укладывает куклу в ясельки; под которые можно приспособить пустую продолговатую плетеную корзинку для цветов или изготовить специальные ясли. Иосиф присаживается рядом, и оба супруга с умилением смотрят на младенца.
Переводчик.
В той стране были на поле пастухи. Вдруг предстал перед ними ангел Господень и сказал им: "Не бойтесь, я возвещаю вам великую радость, ибо ныне родился ваш Спаситель, который есть Христос Господь. И вот вам знак: вы найдете младенца в пеленах, лежащих в яслях".
Продолжение сценки. К пастухам, сидящим на другом краю сцены, подходит ангел в белых одеждах.
Don’t be afraid! I declare a great joy for you! Today your Savior was born! Jesus Christ, the Lord! There’s a sign for you! You’ll find him in the manger!

Let’s go and see what’s happened.

Когда Иисусу исполнилось тридцать лет, он начал свое служение Богу и людям: исцелял больных, воскрешал из мертвых тех, кто был лишен жизни, не выполнив своего земного предназначения, своими притчами учил людей добру и любви к ближнему. За это простой народ полюбил его, и за это же невзлюбили Иисуса первосвященники, книжники и старейшины.
И вот однажды, перед праздником Пасхи, решили они найти сына Божия и погубить, но не знали, где искать его. И тогда один из учеников Иисуса, которого звали Иуда Искариот, предал своего учителя. За это дали Иуде тридцать серебряных монет.
Вечером, когда Иисус и двенадцать апостолов, его учеников, собрались на тайный ужин по случаю праздника Пасхи, сын Божий предсказал, что один из двенадцати предаст его. Так и случилось. Когда после ужина Иисус с учениками вышел в Гефсиманский сад, то Иуда подошел к Иисусу и поцеловал его.
Это был знак, чтобы распознать сына Божия среди других.
Иисуса схватили и распяли на кресте, люди же, не верящие в него, смеялись и издевались над ним. Вдруг сделалась тьма. Померкло солнце. Умирающий Иисус произнес: "Отец! В руки твои передаю дух мой!" Вот так умер тот, кто пришел спасти нас, чтобы затем воскреснуть и вознестись на небо к своему отцу. Господь наш Иисус Христос учил: "Любите всех людей, делайте добро вашим врагам и молитесь за тех, кто вас обижает. Если вы хотите, чтобы все были с вами ласковы и добры, поступайте сами так же.
Ни о ком не говорите дурно, тогда и о вас не будут говорить, помогайте другим, и вам помогут. Почитайте своих родителей, и вам даруется долгая жизнь". Живите по законам христианским и будет вам благо".

Под окнами молодые люди поют рождественские песни, собирая деньги на помощь бедным.
Самое главное событие Рождества
— праздничный обед с традиционной индюшкой или гусем, пудингом и рождественскими подарками. Рождество
— семейный праздник, все собираются за одним столом, разыгрывают сценку рождения Христа, играют в веселые игры, поют рождественские песни и рассказывают страшные истории. Если вы не боитесь, я расскажу вам одну из них.
"Однажды очень красивая леди приехала погостить в одно имение. Когда-то давным-давно им управлял опекун маленького мальчика. Этот человек сажал малыша в клетку и своим жестоким обращением погубил его.
Наша леди об этом ничего не знала. Ей предоставили спальню, в которой когда-то умер маленький мальчик. Леди спокойно легла спать, а утром спросила у горничной, когда та вошла: "Кто этот хорошенький малыш с печальными глазами, который всю ночь выглядывал из чулана?" Горничная громко вскрикнула и тут же убежала.
Тогда леди пошла к брату и сказала : "Мне всю ночь не давал спать какой-то мальчик с печальными глазами; он то и дело выглядывал из чулана в моей спальне. Это чьи-то проказы". "Нет,
— ответил ее брат,
— ты видела мальчика-сироту. Что он делал?" "Он тихонько отворял дверь,
— сказала она,
— и заглядывал ко мне. Иногда входил в комнату и делал шаг-другой. Я его подзывала, но он пугался, вздрагивал, прятался обратно в чулан и закрывался". "Этого не может быть,
— возразил брат леди,
— дверь накрепко заколочена". Это была правда.
Два плотника полдня не могли открыть этот чулан. Тогда леди поняла, что видела мальчика-сироту. Но самое страшное было то, что сироту видели один за другим три сына ее брата и все трое умерли малолетними. Каждый из них заболевал при таких обстоятельствах: за двенадцать часов перед тем он прибегал весь в жару и говорил матери: ах, мама, я играл под дубом с каким-то странным мальчиком
— хорошеньким, с печальными глазами, который был очень пуглив. Это и был мальчик-сирота, который умер от жестокостей и тоски".
Это самая настоящая английская история, и я рассказал вам ее для того, чтобы вы не забывали про закон любви и добра, милосердия и сострадания. Вот такие истории рассказывают на Рождество, а иной раз не обходится без привидений, которые так и норовят заглянуть в гости.
ВНИМАНИЕ :
В этот самый момент на сцене и в самом деле появляется привидение в белом костюме, который состоит из накидки и остроконечного колпака. На нем черной гуашью нарисована страшная рожица. Привидение проходит по сцене и направляется к Санта-Клаусу (Санта-Клаус еще не видит ужасного гостя).

Представляете, в самый разгар праздника появляется этакое белое, жуткое, ужасное привидение, так сказать, спешит на огонек, пугает добропорядочных граждан, а потом…
(В этот момент привидение пытается душить Сайта-Клауса). Эй! Эй! Эй! Погоди! Ты что делаешь? Не видишь
— у нас праздник! Зайди чуть попозже!
(Привидение отпускает Сайта-Клауса, Санта в этот момент потирает шею). Милый парень… (Поворачивает голову и смотрит вслед привидению). Ушел? Слава Богу. Так, на чем я остановился? Ах, да!
Любящие и послушные дети получают рождественские подарки. Они развешивают свои маленькие чулочки у камина, а утром находят их полными гостинцев. Их принес Санта-Клаус.
Эта история началась давно, когда двое бедных ребятишек весь день бродили по городу, прося милостыню. Но никто не подал им ничего для ужина. Продрогшие и голодные, они вернулись домой, развесили свои мокрые от дождя и снега чулки у камина, чтобы просушить, а утром обнаружили, что они полны подарков.
Господь сжалился над бедными детьми и повелел Санта-Клаусу одарить их гостинцами. Вот оно какое

Получение приза оставьте на самый последний момент. Внимательно проследите, кому именно достанется эта открытка, и дайте слово этому участнику в последнюю очередь. Сначала пусть пройдут шуточные задания.

Привлечение живых зверушек к мероприятию очень эффектное зрелище. Кролика, морскую свинку или какое-нибудь другое животное можно попросить у кого-нибудь из учеников, у кого есть домашнее животное. Естественно, что вы несете ответственность за живое существо, поэтому выясните, как с ним нужно обращаться. В сельских школах проблем с живностью нет, и сельским детям это не так интересно, как городским школьникам, для которых живой кролик

ВНИМАНИЕ :
С этой игрой нас познакомили американские студенты, так что мы вправе утверждать, что в эту игру действительно играют на Рождество в американских семьях. Конкурс можно организовать так: каждый участник вылавливает яблоко по очереди. Естественно, для разных участников выделяется по одному яблоку. Санта-Клаус или его помощник засекают время по секундомеру. Побеждает тот участник, кто сделает это быстрее.
Для этого конкурса вам понадобятся : яблоки, ведерко, полотенце (потому что от брызг не застрахован никто), секундомер. Результаты записываются на листочке, потом сравниваются, и называется победитель.

Well, the candles are lit, the Christmas tree is glittering with lights, the fire in the fire-place is burning. It’s time to begin the festival. The festival of Christmas.
Everybody of you has his own mas, his own birthday which is celebrated with a light pie and tasty lemonade. But this occasion is something special; this is birthday of Jesus, our Savior. He was born on the 25-th of December, nearly 2.000 years ago. Are you interested how it happened? So listen.
Long, long ago in the town of Nazareth the carpenter Joseph lived. Joseph had a wife, Maria. The god’s angel once came to her and said: "You will give birth to a son and give him the name of Jesus. He will be great as the son of the God".
It happened so that Joseph and Maria had to go to a Judah town. While they were there time came for Maria to give birth for a child. So Maria gave birth to her first son, swaddled him and put into the manger, because there was no room in the inn. In that country there were shepherds in the fields. The God’s angel appeared before them and said…
Shepherds said to each other, "Let’s go to the town and see what happened".
They hurried and they saw Maria, Joseph and baby in the manger.
Shepherds told the happy parents everything that the angel had told them, and everybody wondered.
So happened the birth of the great Jesus, which is celebrated so many centuries as Christmas. Such scenes as you have seen are played in American families on Christmas.
But the story about Jesus is not finished.
When Jesus was 30 years old, he began his service: he cured sick people, he raised them from dead, taught them love and kindness.
Simple people loved him for that, but he high priests, elders and scribers did not like him.
So once, before the Easter they decided to find the God’s son and ruin him, but did not know where to look for him.
So then, one of Jesus apostles, Judas, suggested to betray his teacher, and was given 30 silver coins.
So in the evening, when Jesus and the 12 apostles gathered for the secret (dinner, the god’s son foretold that one of twelve’s would betray him. And so happened.
After the dinner Jesus and men went to the garden, Judas came near and kissed him. It was the sign to recognize Jesus among others.
Jesus was seized. The people sword him and beat him. Then they took him to Pilate, procurator, and began to blame him for lewdness. Pilate and the king Nerod did not find any guilt, but the people began to shout, "Crucify him! "
Jesus was crucified, and people laughed at him.
At six o’clock it became dark. The sun grew dark when dying Jesus said, "Father! Into your hands I commend my spirit".
So the greatest of men died to raise from dead and to rise to his father to rule us and defend from troubles.
So there are the laws of life which all the people must follow to become happy:
1. Honors your father and your mother and you will live long.
2. Don’t kill. Murder is the most dreadful sin. You have no right to take away another’s life.
3. Leave the lascivious thoughts and affairs.
4. Don’t steal. Secret always becomes evident.
5. Don’t lie. It is prohibited to slander, to gossip and condemn.
Live the Christian laws and you’ll be happy.
And now is the song about Jesus.
My friends "Little angels" will sing it.
Our festival is going on. In the centre of London at the Trafalgar square stands enormous green tree, gift from people of Oslo. In every house there stand evergreen trees, because the evergreen trees are the symbols of eternal life. Under the Christmas tree they put a manger with Christ baby. The house is decorated with twigs of mistletoe and holy.
Holy, because before death Jesus was wearing the garland of holy, and mistletoe is the symbol of love and reconciliation under which a boy may kiss a girl, asking pardon for the pranks.
On Christmas we must forgive each others all offences and ask pardon for everything. On the Christmas Eve there is a fuss in towns, everybody’s making preparations. Offices are closed at 1 o’clock, but shops are working.
Postmen hurry to deliver millions of Christmas cards, young people in the streets are singing Christmas songs, collecting money for poor people.
But the main event of Christmas is the Christmas dinner with traditional turkey or goose, pudding and Christmas presents. Christmas is the family event, all are gathering at one table, act the scene about Christ birth, play games, sing Christmas songs and tell dreadful stories.
If you are not afraid I can tell you such a story.
Once upon a time a very beautiful lady visited one estate. Many years ago this estate was managed by a man who was a tutor of a little boy. This man caged the boy and brought him to death. Our lady did not know anything about it. She was let the bedroom in which the boy died many years ago. The lady went to bed.
In the morning she asked the housemaid, "Who is that pretty boy with sad eyes who looked out of lumber-room? " The housemaid screamed and ran away.
Then she went to her brother and said: "A boy with sad eyes bothered me all the night. He looked out of the lumber-room. Are these anybody’s jokes? " "No", answered her brother, "you saw the Boy Orphan. What did he say? " "He opened the door and looked at me. Sometimes he came into the room.
I called him but he got afraid and hid back into the lumber-room and shut the door". "It can’t be so! " answered her brother, "The lumber-room is nailed and there is no way out".
It was true. Two carpenters couldn’t open the lumber-room. Then lady understood that she had seen the Boy Orphan. But the most terrible was that years ago the Boy was seen by three sons of her brother, all of them died when they were very young.
Everybody of them became sick. Twelve hours before they came to their mother and said, "Oh, mummy, I’ve just played under the oak with a strange boy, pretty, with sad eyes". It was the Boy Orphan, who died from cruel behavior.
It is a real English story which I told for you not to forget the laws of love, kindness and mercy. Stories of that kind are told at the Christmas party.
Sometimes ghosts can come to you. Imagine that in the height of the party there appears white, sinister, terrible ghost. It shocks the people and then…
(to the Ghost) Wait! Wait! What are you doing? We are at the festival. Come a little later! A good guy… He’s gone? Thanks God!
Well, the main thing is that dutiful and loving children get the Christmas presents. They hang their little stockings at the fireplace. In the morning they find that the stockings are full of presents. They were sent by Santa. The story began a long ago when two poor people were walking in the streets all the day but did not get anything to eat. Hungry and cold they came back home, hung their wet stockings at the fireplace to make them dry, cried a little and went to bed.

Christmas Star: Christmas is a religious holiday. We celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. We celebrate Christmas on the 25th of December. There are a lot of traditions connected with Christmas. Every year the people of Norway give the city of London a present. It’s a big Christmas tree and it stands in Trafalgar Square. Most families write Christmas cards. In England almost every family receives more than 60 Christmas cards.
Snowflake 1: Christmas is always the happiest day of the year. Children like to think of it as their own holiday. But for everyone it is a very special time. The fun starts the night before, on the 24th of December, Christmas Eve. Traditionally this is the day when people decorate their trees. Children hang stockings at the end of their beds hopping that Farther Christmas will fill them with toys and sweets.
Snowflake 2: Relatives usually meet for the big Christmas dinner. The traditional Christmas dinner is roast turkey with vegetables and Christmas pudding. In England people make Christmas pudding before Christmas. Everyone in family stirs the pudding and makes a wish. It’s a traditional meal, which people cook for Christmas party. When the pudding is hot they put 5-penny pieces in it, a button or a ring. If you find a button in your piece of pudding you will be rich, a ring – marriage.
Clown: At Christmas we follow old customs. We feel the magic of the season. Most families decorate their houses with a Christmas tree, buy presents for the family and friends. Sometimes English families trim trees outside their houses and place candles in the windows. Red and green are the traditional Christmas colours.
Snow Maiden: The 26th December – Boxing Day is an extra holiday after Christmas. This day people usually give and receive presents. This is time to visit friends and relatives or to sit at home and watch football.

(К доске выходят пять уч-ся 5 класса. Задание – нарисовать на доске символ года Белого Кролика. Каждый рисует свой символ. Мастер Церемонии выбирает лучшего, а затем стирает хвосты у кроликов. Затем выходят еще пять уч-ся и с завязанными глазами пытаются приклеить заранее подготовленные меховые хвосты к изображению кроликов. Уч-ся несколько раз прокручивают вокруг своей оси. В конце конкурса всем участникам Санта Клаус раздает подарки).

Russian girl tries to sit down on a giant caterpillar but jumps up and cries.

Caterpillar: First of all can’t you be more polite and stop sitting on a delicate caterpillar?
Russian girl: Caterpillar in winter! It’s incredible!

Цель: ознакомление с традициями англоязычных стран, закрепление пройденного материала, развития мотивации к изучению иностранного языка.
Задачи:
- Учебный аспект: активизировать ранее изученные лексико-грамматические структуры в речи детей.
- Развивающий аспект: развивать мелкую моторику, воображение, способность работать в группе.
- Воспитательный аспект: формировать познавательную активность детей; воспитывать интерес к занятиям английским языком, воспитывать готовность сотрудничать при выполнении конкретной задачи; учить работать слаженно, помогая друг другу.
Оборудование: магнитофон, ватманы, снежок из ваты или бумаги, 2 ведерка, белая бумага, фломастеры (карандаши, краски, маркеры), карточки со словами.

Ведущий : Hello, dear children! I am very glad to see you here!!! Are you ready to start?
(Каждый ребёнок отвечает - I am ready!)
Ведущий: Мы с вами сегодня не просто так собрались! Какой раздник сейчас отмечаю в Англии? Кто знает? (дети угадывают). Правильно, Рождество! А как это будет по английски? (Дети хором отвечают - Christmas). Какие вы молодцы! А теперь давайте споём рождественскую песенку-пожелание! (дети поют «We wish you a verry Christmas»)

Mrs.Claus: Poor old Santa... Good-bye, New Year. Merry Christmas!
(Exit New Year. Enter ELF 1 and ELF 2)
Mrs.Claus: Good day, my little elves. Come here! Have you, Elves, ever thought what it is like for our Santa on Christmas morning? He works all Christmas night putting presents in children"s stockings, and when he comes back to a quiet North Pole he is so tired! All people are opening presents and having a wonderful time and poor old Santa is so tired that he can"t celebrate!
1 st Elf:
Think about it. It"s almost shocking!
He won"t even have a Christmas stocking.
Is it too late for us to plan
To celebrate with this kind old man?
Mrs.Claus: What a good idea! No, it isn"t to late! Let"s quickly think of the presents we can make!

So the cold won"t get him when he is out in his sleigh.

Alice: And my name is Alice. Do you know what tale I come from? "Alice in Wonderland", of course!
Tom: Imagine how unhappy I am with these two silly girls following me here and there and everywhere! Woh!
Dorothy: Tom, stop being naughty, please! It"s Christmas Eve!
Alice: It"s Christmas Eve and where are our presents? There is nothing in my stocking!
Dorothy: And my stocking is empty, too!
Tom: What has happened to Santa Claus?
(Enter MRS.CLAUS and the ELVES)
Mrs.Claus: My dear friends, you know how busy Santa is. No wonder he has forgotten!
Dorothy, Alice: Merry Christmas, Mrs.Claus!
1 st Elf: Merry Christmas, everybody! Do you know that we decided to give Santa Claus some presents. He never gets anything on Christmas, you know.
Tom: I"ve got an idea. Old Santa has so much work to do today. What if we help him to take the presents to those children who live not very far away?
2 nd Elf: That will be nice! Here is a bag with presents, the New Year has left it hear. Oh, how heavy it is!
Mrs.Claus: Now everybody has something to do and I am going to make a stew.
Dorothy: Can we help you. Mrs.Claus?
Alice: We would like to do it!
1 st Elf: And I think we must invite children to our party. They will dress up in pretty clothes and we"ll have fun!
Mrs.Claus: But we must hurry - Christmas is coming.
SCENE 4.
(Enter BLACK FAIRY)
Black Fairy: Oh, I knew it! Santa Claus hasn"t even put a stocking for me. He"s forgotten about me! And they are all talking about him - helping Santa, presents for Santa, a party for Santa... And I"m always alone! O.K. I"ll show them what happens if they forget about Black Fairy! I don"t want them to help that old fat Santa Claus. Oh, what"s that? Christmas presents!? Presents for these naughty, noisy, lazy children? I"ll take them and hide in a good secret place. (to the audience) And if you tell them anything you will never get any presents on Christmas! Do you understand? Never again!
SCENE 5.
(Enter Tom, Dorothy and Alice)
Tom: It"s time to go. The children are waiting for their presents. (looking around) But where are the presents? Where is the bag?
Dorothy: Where are the presents?
Alice (crying): Somebody has taken the bag! Now the children won"t get the presents!
Dorothy (crying): Poor Santa Claus. Everybody will be angry with him. We wanted to help and now...
Tom: Never again shall I ask any girls to help me! The only thing they can do is cry and weep! It"s cold today and if you don"t stop you will have icicles on your eyes! Stop crying and let me think. There must be a way out. Yes! A Christmas Fairy - Saula is the only one who can help us! She always comes on Christmas Eve to those who need help.
SCENE 6.
(Distant music and bells are heard, enter SAULA)
Saula: Merry Christmas!
Tom: Saula! I"ve been thinking about you! How do you know that we need your help?
Saula: I heard someone crying. I thought I could help, and here I am!
Alice: Saula, dear, do you know what has happened?
Saula: I don"t, sweetheart.
Dorothy: We decided to help Santa Claus with the presents, you know he is so busy on Christmas Eve...
Saula: How lovely! How kind of you to do it!
Alice: But somebody has taken the bag with all the presents!
Tom: Even I have no idea - who could do such a bad thing!
Saula: Let me think... I guess I know who it is.
All: Do you!?
Saula: Have you ever heard about the Black Fairy of the Christmas Eve?
Tom: Never.
Alice: Yes, I"ve once read about her. People say she is very wicked, nobody loves her and she loves nobody.
Saula: You are right. She always tries to do something bad on Christmas Eve.
Tom: Let me catch her and she will never do anything bad again!
Saula: Don"t be so angry, Tom. Christmas is the time for love and forgiving. Think of how unhappy she is. She"s got no friends, no family. Nobody gives her presents or says Merry Christmas.
Dorothy: Poor thing.
Alice: I"m so sorry.
Dorothy: And what if we give her a present?
Tom: A present for this ...
Alice: Oh, Tom, we must give her a present and say we are sorry nobody wants to be her friend. May be she isn"t as bad as she looks.
Dorothy: We can be her friends.
Saula: You are good girls! That"s just what we must do. Elves! Elves! Have you got one more stocking?
SCENE 7.
(Enter Elves)
1 st Elf: Merry Christmas Saula!
2 nd Elf: Who do you need a stocking for?
Saula: For Black Fairy.
Elves: Black Fairy?
Tom: These kind women feel sorry for her! And she has stolen the bag with Christmas presents! Have you ever heard anything like that!?
Saula: Tom, be a good boy today. Don"t forget it"s Christmas time.
Tom: O.K. I"ll show you that I can be good. I can even give Black Fairy my tooth as a present. And it"s the best thing I have got!
Dorothy: We"ve got some candies.
2 nd Elf: And I have a nice Christmas bell!
Saula: Here is an apple and a beautiful Christmas card from me. Let us put everything into the stocking and call Black fairy all together.
All: Black Fairy! Black Fairy!
SCENE 8.
(Enter Black Fairy)
Black Fairy: I haven"t seen your bag with presents! I"ve never touched it.
Saula: Dear, nobody thinks you have!
Alice: We just wanted to say to you -
All: Merry Christmas!
Dorothy: Christmas is the time for love, friendship and forgiving.
Tom: Here is a present for you, Black Fairy!
Black Fairy: A Christmas stocking? For me? Isn"t it a joke?
1 st Elf: No, Black Fairy, it isn"t a joke. We want to be your friends.
Black Fairy: Oh, thank you so much! And I am sorry. It was me. I took the presents. I didn"t want you to help Santa Claus because he never, never brings me presents. I am so sorry. Here is the bag. Forgive me, please!
Saula: We will forgive you if you help us to take the presents to the children. We must hurry or we"ll be late!
Black Fairy: Certainly, with great pleasure!
Saula: I"m leaving you now. You can do everything yourselves and I must help those who are unhappy today. Good-bye and merry Christmas! (exit Saula)
SCENE 9.
(Mrs.Claus and the Elves)
Mrs.Claus: Everything is ready. We helped Santa with the presents and his stocking is full of presents, too. And the tasty lunch is on the table. But there are no lights on the Christmas tree!
1 st Elf:
We"ll have to hurry to get things done
The computer shows he"s on his last run!
2 nd Elf: Yes, he is coming!
Mrs.Claus: Tom, Alice, Dorothy, come here! (Enter Tom, Alice, Dorothy). I can hear him. He"s going into his bedroom. Let"s turn off the lights and hide. (the stage remains dark and quiet) I"d better go and see what has happened to him. I don"t hear anything! (the lights go up, Mrs.Claus exits and immediately comes back)
Well, little friends, you needn"t hide
Santa"s too tired after his ride
The party food we"ll have to keep
Dear old Santa is fast asleep!
Tom: What if we wake him up?
Alice: Won"t he be angry? He is so tired.
Dorothy: I know a lovely Christmas song about Santa Claus. If we sing it he"ll wake up and won"t be angry.
